Many people have stated there is no tutorial so I thought I would give an attempt at a tutorial.

Contents:

What is a graphics pack
What is a Cascading Style Sheet
How do I Alter it
How do I alter the graphics pack
Where do I get the original graphics pack
How do I use my graphics pack
Where do I get the graphics pack you used

<!--What is a graphics pack--!>
A graphics pack is a folder containing several elements. The normal graphics pack will contain a few Cascading Style Sheet codes and a series of images. When creating a new graphics pack you must create new images but giving them the same name as the original.

<!--What is a Cascading Style Sheet--!>
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is a stylesheet language used to describe the presentation of a document written in a markup language. Its most common application is to style web pages written in HTML and XHTML, but the language can be applied to any kind of XML document, including SVG and XUL.

In simple terms a Cascading Style Sheet an external file that contains some code (see image 2) which controls the style and layout of any site.

<!--How do I alter a Cascading Style Sheet--!>
Do Not Alter The Style Sheet!

Unless you have extensive knowledge of CSS2 and is confident when working with it messing with the code can have serious effects. It is best not to even open the file.

<!--How do I alter the graphics pack--!>
As stated in the first paragraph to alter a graphics pack you must take the original image and alter its design. You must keep the original size and filename for it to work.

(see image 1 above) (Due to the image limit I cannot use it again)

There are loads of images in a bog standard graphics pack that must be altered. With a graphics pack you get the built image and the building image. Shown in image 3 you can see the two stages of the building and then an edited version.

<!--How do I use my graphics pack--!>
When you have made your graphics pack and you are sure everything is working okay there are two ways to get your graphics pack to work.

1. You can use the ingame path finder to upload your graphics pack. It even allows you to test it and when you are happy activate it.

http://www.exigence.meermajik.co.uk/images/image4.bmp

2. You can also upload your graphics pack to a web host. Most Internet service providers offer a select amount of webspace you can use to upload files to. When you have uploaded it you must type in your address followed by the location of the folder.

i.e. http://www.yourdomain.co.uk/graphics_pack/Graphics_2/

Red is your site address (url)
Magenta is the folder you put your graphics pack folder in
Cyan is the folder that only contains your graphics and CSS

Remember, if you need more help there is a guide to installing graphics packs:

<!--Where do I get the graphics pack you used--!>
There is currently no way to get ahold of this graphics pack. Soon the graphics pack will be available when the Exigence site is published later next month.

Note: If there is any incorrect information in this tutorial please contact me via pm to tell me so that I may correct it immediately. I plan on making this guide look better over time.
The graphics pack was created by Dan_sheepman (http://archive.forum.travian.co.uk/private.php?do=newpm&u=7153).

looks helpful - can anyone tell me though how to keep the backgrounds transparent? do i have to use white (255,255,255) or actually make it transparent (i'm using PSP 8, so i can do)?

i'm only asking to save time, as my computer with all my arty stuff on isn't connected to the internet :(

i have a cool idea for a theme though, i might post some pics up later if it works :)
