Introduction (http://blank)

19kylegreer96's guide to taking oasis, as you might know there are many oasis guides out there, but i wanted to share my own.
Please note, I will use the word 'attack' instead of 'raid', this is to make things sound easy, in real, you can only raid an oasis.

What are oasis? (http://blank)

Oasis are small areas on land on your map that can not be settled nor taken with chiefs, there are many typed of oasis and many types of 'nature troops' defending it. Once taken, oasis can boost production of a specific resource, or even 2, by 25% or 50%.

Nature? (http://blank)

Nature is the troops defending and unoccupied oasis, they are unique to an oasis, and each troop type has a different defence power, nature does have attack power but is deemed useless as they never attack.
There are 10 Different types of nature in an oasis:

Rats
Spiders
Snakes
Bats
Wild Boars
Wolfs
Bears
Crocodiles
Tigers
Elephants

Each Troop has its own defensive power, shown here:

Hero Note:

Also, when attacking an oasis, your hero will gain experience from kills by the upkeep of an animal, for instance, a rat will give 1 experience point, but an elephant will give 5.

General rules of taking oasis (http://blank)

To take an oasis, you need a few things first:

Hero's mansion level 10, 15 or 20. (You can only take 3 a village, 1 oasis per slot.)
A hero in the village that the oasis will be taken by, must be your own hero.
A Medium to large army to take the oasis, explained below.
A Small Defence, if any, to defend the oasis.
A unoccupied oasis in your 7x7.

Oasis provide resource bonus for various different resources types, if you see an oasis on the map for example, wood, then you will receive a 25% bonus on your wood production, so, this will only be useful if you have a higher resource production on wood, for instance, a production of 20 wood would only be bumped up to 25, where a resource production of 100 would be bumped to 125, providing an extra 600 wood per day, combined with the saw mill and gold bonus, that could be an extra 75 per hour, giving you an extra 1800 wood per day.

Oasis Types can come in single resource, or double resource types, they are shown below:

Attacking oasis (http://blank)

There are 3 general reasons to attack an oasis:

To raid
Raiding an oasis will, if done successfully will provide a bounty of 400 per resource, but this would usally be done with a small troop loss, as any bigger loss would waste more resources having trained and used them compared to the 1600 bounty. It is always best to attack a double resource oasis as the 2 resources it is geared to produce will always fill faster than the others, giving more bounty if you where to raid again.

Hero Experience
As said above, when attacking an oasis, your hero will gain experience from kills by the upkeep of an animal, for instance, a rat will give 1 experience point, but an elephant will give 5. If troops are not being used, you have a high number and want to use your hero, then you can gin experience by attacking an oasis, also referred as 'clearing it' and giving your hero experience.

To conquer
As explained above, you will receive a bonus on production.

To attack an oasis you will need to attack about 3 times, unless of coarse you have a very high troop count to attack it with, you do not need to take out any building as there are not any in a oasis, an oasis has a population of 400 for defence porpoise. Although this is not shown. You should use combat simulator before you attack an oasis to ensure your losses are not too heavy and to ensure you will actually take the oasis, you have to kill evrey troop to take it.
When sending the hero, the hero should be sent on the last attack, or second last if really wanted, this is to ensure the hero wont die and he will loose a lot of health while attacking, and nature re-spawns fairly quickly.

Defending (http://blank) Oasis (http://blank)
Defending an oasis is fairly hard as you have no wall bonus. People can take advantage of the fact there is no troops there, an easy and quick resource, you can receive a bounty of more that 400 if the oasis have been conquered. A small defence of various size depending on surrounding players is fair, with always at least 1 scout to see if anyone is checking your oasis out.

Occupied Oasis (http://blank)

You will also have to defend against other people wanting your oasis, if you own 1 oasis then the attack must attack 3 times to take your oasis, with his hero each time, 2 if you own 2 oasis, and once if you own 3 oasis. Don't forget if you oasis does get taken, that rule will also apply to you.
sometimes if your troop size is small and you really want an oasis for whatever reason, then you can let someone else take the oasis, then take it off them, but you risk the owner sending defence to the oasis while you let your attack return and arrive, if they have less than 3 oasis, if the have 3 oasis then your in luck!

Thank you for reading my guide, any problems/mistakes/comments please post!

Good guide, I learnt something from it, but then again I've never had an oasis , although there are a couple of spelling mistakes, e.g "Oasis" is singular as in "He conquered my oasis with his hero last night, you are talking about "Oases" e.g "There are 3 50% Crop oases around that 15c!"
;);)

Hero's mansion level 10, 15 or 20. (You can only take 3 oasis per slot.)

Shouldn't that be 1 for L10, 2 for L15 and 3 for L20?

no, it means that there is a slot at 10, 15 and 20

Then it should say 3 oases per village not slot

Also you should explain what 50%, 75%, 150% means

Also, why don't you make the blank links with the code that is SeaGreen Underlined? instead of links.

Am I correct in saying it doesn't matter what level your fields are at when conquering oasis as the 25% increase will automatically go up as the fields are upgraded?
