Thread: Different Villages Combinations

  1. #1

    Default Different Villages Combinations

Before T3.5 was released, there were 6 different types of villages. Now T3.5 has been released, that amount has become 12. In this Guide, I hope to explain about all of these villages in depth, making sure that I have achieved this one objective at the end. ďWhich village is the best to make my troops in?Ē

The two most important villages in my opinion are called 9 Croppers and 15 Croppers. A 9 Cropper seems to be the second rarest village on the different servers, whilst the 15 Cropper seems to be the rarest village. These already existed before T3.5 was released. I have explained quite a lot about these below, so please click on the links below to be taken directly to them:

3-3-3-9 if you want to find out about the 9 Cropper

1-1-1-15 if you want to find out about the 15 Cropper

The next three villages are important to you, depending on your tribe. One is suited to Romans, because it has more Iron fields than any other fields except Wheat. Another one is suited to Gauls, because it has more Clay fields than any other fields except Wheat. The last village is suited to Teutonís, because it has more Wood fields than any other fields except Wheat. If you want to find out more about these, then please click the following links:

3-4-5-6 if you want to find out about the Romans village

4-5-3-6 if you want to find out about the Gauls village

5-3-4-6 if you want to find out about the Teutonís village

This village that I am going to talk about is suited for all of the tribes, as it is equal in all fields except for Wheat, which by now, you should have realised that there is going to be more Wheat fields in every village. This village already existed before T3.5 was released. If I explain anymore here, then I will be explaining most of the things that I have prepared for this village, so if you want to find out more, then please click the following link:

4-4-4-6 if you want to find out more about this village

The next three villages are the important to you depending on your tribe. Again, one is suited to Romans, the other to Gauls and the last village to Teutonís. It is exactly the same as the three that I listed above, except that the other resource tile that wasnít affected in any way is affected this time. These three villages were released with T3.5. If you want to find out more, then please click the following links:

4-3-5-6 for information about this certain Roman village

3-5-4-6 for information about this certain Gaul village

5-4-3-6 for information about this certain Teuton village

The next three could be classified as Croppers. They all have 7 Wheat fields, but in each other one of them, a different resource tile is affected. I canít really see any other use for this, so Iíve honestly got to say that they have to be used for troop storage. These were released with T3.5. If you want to find out more about these three villages, then please click the following links:

3-4-4-7 if you want information about the village that has had its Wood fields affected

4-3-4-7 if you want information about the village that has had its Clay fields affected

4-4-3-7 if you want information about the village that has had its Iron fields affected

    4-4-4-6
    (4 Wood, 4 Clay, 4 Iron, 6 Wheat)

This is the village that is suited for all of the tribes, as explained above. Once you have finished your registration on a server, you will find out that you start off been the leader of this village. This will always be the case, and you will never get anything else other than this village to lead at the beginning. You were given this village as your starting village, because it is equal in resources fields, as Iíve already highlighted above in the paragraph that explains a little bit about this.

This will always be your Capital village, unless you choose to make another village your Capital. The reason it will always be your Capital is to make sure that it canít be conquered as soon as you start a server, something that is extremely valuable when people have started conquering.

This village was released before T3.5, and has been a village in Travian ever since T2, from which my evidence suggests, was the first ever upgrade. (I canít find anything below T2, so Iíve assumed that it was the first ever upgrade.)

Speed Server Calculations-These are some calculations that I have done for Speed Servers highlighting the resource production and seeing in which ways it is altered by certain aspects.

    All resource fields level 10:

    Wood Production-2400

    Clay Production-2400

    Iron Production-2400

Wheat Production-3600 (Provided that you have no pop, which is impossible.)

All resource fields level 10 with... (Iíll finish this off later. Iíve got to do something important.)

    3-3-3-9
    (3 Wood, 3 Clay, 3 Iron, 9 Wheat)

I would say that if you are going for a Cropper, then take the 9 Cropper. It has a decent resource production, except for wheat where it has an excellent resource production. Last time I had a 9 Cropper, I used it for storing troops for my World Wonder Hammer. These are not that rare as 15 Cropper, and you can be sure to find them around a 50% wheat oasis.

9 Croppers are also used for supplying vital wheat to villages, especially a World Wonder in the end game. Since the wheat that you produce in this village is vital, I advise you to have a fully upgraded marketplace. I would make sure that these are kept reasonable close to a village that you are constantly going into negative wheat, such as your main raiding village if you are a heavy raider.

I am now in the process of showing some of my calculations to you, but as before, I need to make sure that they are correct.

    1-1-1-15
    (1 Wood, 1 Clay, 1 Iron, 15 Wheat)

Before you go for these villages, make sure that you have a couple of supply villages close to them; otherwise it is going to take an awful lot of time to build up this village if you are not a Gold User. I would normally take the 15 Cropper as my third village if I have a quite high ranking, because I am sure that I would be able to scare people off with a false threat of destruction. If I do not have a high ranking, then Iíll make sure that Iíll take this village as my second village, provided that it is close to my main village and I can successfully defend it.

15 Croppers were created for supplying wheat to villages, and holding the different sections of a World Wonder Hammer. I wouldnít necessarily create my World Wonder Hammer in here, but I guess the choice is yours. Most people decide to make 15 Croppers their Capitalís as they regard it as there most important village which must NEVER be conquered.

This might take a while. I'm currently waiting for photobucket to load so I can upload some pictures onto it. But, my internet is freaking slow, so I'll probably have to wait until 10 or tomorrow morning.

well tbh, pretty much any 6c/7c can be lumped in to the same category.

The interesting differences in villages come from what you use them for, i.e. specialising your villages to offence, defence or supply. The capital probably deserves its own section too.

yes, I'm looking forward to seeing the case you make for different villages for different tribes, because I think that's a little bit too cliched, it really depends, as jez2 says, on WHAT you want to do with the village more than simply what tribe you are

Indeed clichť would be a good word to describe it. It always annoys me when people go round saying "teutons = wood, gauls = clay and romans = iron blah blah".. well yeh maybe a teut needs wood for mace and spears.. but what about axemen and tk's? little by way of wood compared to iron/clay respectively.

Gauls for clay? what about swords and haeds, heavy on the iron.

Romans are in fact fairly heavy on iron.. but as you can see its generally all nonsense. Every resource is needed, for various different things, so no sensible person would take a large chunk of a certain village type because it suposedly corresponds with their tribe.

(This isnt a moan at night star im just making a similar point to the village type for x tribe point )
