    Idea Avi's T4.2 Quest Guide

    T4.2 Quest List

    Introduction
Here is a list of the new T4.2 quests and optional tutorial for beginners.

    Tutorial (15 quests)
    Battle (14 quests)
    Economy (12 quests)
    World (16 quests)

Included in this guide are the cumulative totals of resource rewards, shown as ( 750) to help you with NPC totals, and the consumption values ( 2) of buildings you are asked to construct to complete a quest - I haven't added in all the values for resource fields as there are so many. I have also added a little bit of advice on some quests to help you plan in advance.

The following quests are listed as they appear in-game / will appear once one is completed. So if you have Quest 7 and 8 available, and you complete Quest 7, then Quest 9 will appear in it's place, and so on.

    Tutorial (15 quests)

If you choose to skip the tutorial, you will begin the game with the following:

    • Clay pit level 1
    • Woodcutter level 2
    • Wheat field level 2
    • Rally point level 1
    • 1 day of Plus account
    • 10 gold

If you accidentally choose to do the tutorial, don't panic! It won't take more than 5 minutes to rush through as everything is auto-completed as a reward.

    1. Welcome
Hello and welcome to Travian! Until you found your next village, I will guide you through the game. In the tutorial, you will build up your village and learn more about the game's features and goals. The tutorial explains the main features of the game and only takes a couple of minutes - start now!

    Continue or Skip Tutorial

    Reward: None.
    2. Clay Pit
Now you can always get information about your current tasks. The next task will be activated once you have collected your reward. Claim your clay pit now!

Reward: A clay pit at level 1 is waiting for you!
    3. Construct a woodcutter
You will need a lot of resources in order to build up your village, train troops and grow your empire. First increase your resources production - construct a woodcutter! Open a forest field by clicking on it. Order the construction of a level 1 woodcutter ( 2).

This is a good start on the way to greater economic power. I'll just finish the construction for you, so that we can continue.

Reward: Finish level 1 woodcutter immediately.
    4. Upgrade Woodcutter
A larger building will require more resources with each upgrade, but in turn it will also produce more. Please upgrade the woodcutter from level 1 to level 2 now! Open the level 1 woodcutter. Order the construction of a level 2 woodcutter ( 1).

The display of your storage and stock can be found above your village. Construction costs will be taken from the stocks. I'll instantly finish the construction for you again.

Reward: Finish construction of woodcutter level 2 immediately.
    5. Construct a wheat field
When looking at your stocks, to the right you can see the free wheat, which indicates the amount of wheat available for new buildings. Buildings consume wheat for their upkeep. Please construct a wheat field now. Click on a wheat field to open it. Upgrade the wheat field to level 1 ( 0).

Your village now produces enough wheat again to support new buildings. The population has to be fed locally, stationed troops can also be supported by wheat deliveries.

Reward: Instantly finish construction of level 1 wheat field and upgrade to level 2.
    6. Hero Production
If your hero is alive, they can produce resources for their village. Our upgrades caused a lack of clay. Change the hero's production to clay now. Click on the hero's image and open the overview. Change resources to clay and save.

Nicely done. Your hero can help you out in times of resource scarcity. All resources they produce will always go to their home village, even if they are underway. I will just increase your stock a little.

    Reward: 200
    7. Enter your village
Next, we will increase the storage capacity for your resources. For this, we need a building inside your village. Go to your village view by toggling the view in the menu at the top. Enter your village now.

    Reward: None.
    8. Construct a warehouse
Without a warehouse, only a few resources can be stored in your village. Click on any available free building site in your village! Search for the warehouse in the infrastructure tab of the construction menu and start construction. Open the construction menu and select the infrastructure tab. Order the construction of a level 1 warehouse ( 1).

Construction work has begun, soon you will have enough storage for production and loot. I will give you one day of Travian PLUS, which allows you to queue a second construction order while the first one is still not finished.

    Reward: One day Travian PLUS
    9. Rally Point
In order to send your hero on adventures, you need a rally point - you can find it in the centre of your village! Build it to level 1. Click on the rally point's building site. Order the construction of a level 1 rally point ( 1).

Great! The construction has been ordered, your hero can now be sent on their way. For this task, I will give you some gold, which we will put to good use right away.

    Reward: 2 gold
    10. Finish immediately
Below the village, you can find a list with all of your current construction orders. This time, you just speed up the construction yourself. Use the gold from the last last task and finish the construction orders by clicking on "complete construction immediately". Complete construction orders immediately.

Now you can send your hero on an adventure. First, order the construction of some more resource fields so your village keeps on growing. Take this gold and spend it wisely.

    Reward: 10 gold
    11. Join the adventure
Discover mysterious places in your surroundings to collect experience and valuable loot. Open the adventure list and send your hero on their first adventure.

Great, your hero is on their way - what are they going to find? Below their image you can see the hero is underway. I will make them arrive now, so that we can see what happens.

Reward: Your hero immediately arrives at the adventure.
    12. Reports
Your hero is now on their way back from the first adventure. In the menu at the top, you can find the reports. Open the report list and read the adventure report.

You can already see what kind of bounty you got in the overview. What was it for you? Also, your hero got slightly injured - to deal with this, I will now give them some ointments.

    Reward: 10 ointments
    13. Heal Hero
Your hero was slightly injured. Open the hero overview by clicking on their image. Now click on the ointments in the inventory and use them with "ok". Only the required amount will be used.

Note: if you use all 10 ointments by accident, only the number you need to heal your hero to 100% health will be used. Eg if he is 98% health, and you apply 10 ointments, 2 will be used and the other 8 will be put in the Hero's bag by his feet.

All items can be used this way. Depending on the item, it is either equipped or your hero consumes it. Further details can be found in any item's description.

Reward: Additionally, your hero receives 20 experience points.
    14. Interface help
Near my image, you can find some additional help regarding the game. There, you can find explanations about the layout and different sections of the user interface. Just give it a try! Open the user interface help and have a look around the UI.

In case you have a specific question, you can always check out our "Answers" first - and you will get help. For that, simply click on the 'i' in the header of this window or in the top corner of the screen.

    Reward: 270 300 270 220 ( 1,060)
    15. End of the tutorial
Now you know the basics of playing the game. Important information such as the end of your beginner's protection or special events can be found in the info box to the left. Enjoy playing Travian!

    End tutorial.

Nice, your hero is already on their way. Hint: The more fighting strength your hero has, the less damage they will take from adventures.

    Reward: 30 hero experience
    2. Cranny
Many players live off of robbing the resources from other players. At game start, you have beginner's protection and you are safe. Construct a cranny to save at least a part of your resources from being plundered. Build a cranny in your village ( 0).

Great, now plunderers will not find it as easy to steal from you anymore. Check the info box to see the time of beginner's protection you have left.

Whenever your hero reaches a new level, they will get stronger. Open the hero's attributes and distribute the attribute points you have been awarded. Distribute your hero's attribute points after levelling up.

You can change the distribution of points for each attribute at any time. All you need for this is a book of wisdom, which can be found in adventures.

    Reward: 190 250 150 110 ( 700)
    5. Train Troops
Now it is time to train your first troops. In the barracks, you can already train one type of infantry unit. Train two troops in the barracks ( 2).

The cornerstone for a glorious army has been laid! Always remember that you can still be attacked, even when you are not online.

    Reward: 1 cage
    6. Wall
Now you should also build some defences. A fortification will increase your base defence and also increases the fighting strength of defending troops. Build a fortification around your village ( 0).

Wonderful, the defenders of your village are now better protected.

    Reward: 120 120 90 50 ( 380)
    7. Attack Oasis
Search the map for a free oasis nearby and plunder it. In case there are animals defending it, send your hero equipped with cages in order to capture them. Open a free oasis on the map and attack it.

Note: you only have to send the troop movement to complete the quest, then you can cancel the troop movement in the Rally Point to reduce troop losses.

Congratulations, your first attack is on its way! You can still cancel it for a short period of time from within your rally point.

Reward: 2 base-unit troops (eg. macemen, legionnaires, phalanx)
Note: troops appear instantly in your Rally Point, there is no travelling time.
    8. 10 Adventures
Continue to send your hero on adventures. After having finished 10 of them, you can participate in auctions and trade items with other players. Finish 10 adventures.

Congratulations, you can now use the auction house. Take this silver, so you have some money for trading right away.

    Reward: 500 silver
    9. Auctions
Go to the auction house and see which items are currently on offer. Maybe you want to turn some of your loot from adventures into silver as well? Create or place a bid in an auction.

Note: You can only take part in auctions once you have completed 10 adventures!

Great, now you know how to trade equipment and consumable items with other players.

    Reward: 280 120 220 110 ( 730)
    10. Barracks Level 3
Further upgrade your barracks now. With this, you fulfil the requirements to unlock further buildings. Upgrade your barracks to level 3 ( 2 + 2).

New and stronger units for your village can be researched in the academy. Some units are very expensive and have high requirements before they can be researched. Construct an academy now ( 4).

    Reward: 210 170 245 115 ( 740)
    12. Research Unit
Check your research options now. There are infantry and cavalry units, as well as siege weapons. Units mainly are specialised in either attack or defence. Research a further troop type.

Note: Romans & Gauls will both need a Level 1 Forge before they can research a unit. Teutons will need Main Building Level 5 to research Scouts if you don't want Spearmen - see World Quest #9.

Research alone is of course not enough; your units will also need to be trained.

    Reward: 450 435 515 550 ( 1,950)
    13. Construct a Forge
A forge allows you to better arm and equip your soldiers. Furthermore a forge is required in order to build further troop buildings. Construct a forge ( 4).

Perfect. Now you can better equip your soldiers.

    Reward: 500 400 700 400 ( 2,000)
    14. Improve Units
Improving your soldiers' equipment isn't cheap. The more soldiers you have, the more rewarding an improvement will be. This time, you will gain more than a refund of the costs. Research a unit improvement in the smithy.

Perfect, now your troops' ability to attack and defend has improved.

    Reward: 10 small bandages
