Default First Hammer , what tribe?

    Hi,
I was wondering what tribe I should play to build my first hammer.

I have never really understood this although have seen it said many times. In my mind takes no more activity to be teuton than any other tribe.

Goes back to the earlier versions of the game where raiding was far more manual and attacking actually took place.

To develop a decent hammer is going to mean a bit of activity is needed - If not a little gold to get things moving, wheat demands increase pretty quickly and in my experience means NPC'ing daily, although with constant management you could probably save some gold! This then ties back into that activity thing - reduced activity = increase in gold.

If your end goal is to get a sizable hammer, you have to increase activity - I would probably go for Gauls.

Have you considered an anvil instead? you can have quite a bit of fun baiting people to attack you and they are much easier to manage if your activity is less than most.
