You can stay in halls after your 1st year but its generally discouraged as a) rooms are reserved for freshers and b) its not a good work environment.

I'll give him a buzz in a bit.

I just woke up, like, 30minutes ago. Went to sleep around half 12-1am. Nice 11ish hours of sleep to start my weekend

Well jeez. We better slow our pace a little.
Two days slower and we'll finish on my birthday.

We didn't have any beans in the house. Had to resort to spaghetti hoops. It's just not the same.

I messaged Rich all of about 20seconds ago, so we'll have to wait and see. I'll keep you posted.

England comfortably thrashed France. Was never even in question. In control the whole way. Ez Pz. GG no Re.

In other news: Watched a buddy of mine blacksmith today, which was pretty cool. Was at a local, uh, sorta ren-fayre thing - but not really. Very LARPish sorta deal. Small event, lotta fake swords being sold.
I dunno, I felt kinda outta place in my modern, properly fitted clothing and Nike sneakers.

Nice to catch up with the blacksmith again though. Old friend of mine since school, who has recently moved up towards Birmingham, to start up his smithing business*.

*Doesn't actually have a proper website yet.

Blacksmithing looks amazing, its on my bucket list of things to try before I die. Its either that or Carpentry, depending on which ones ladies find more attractive.
Also moving to Birmingham? My condolences

Carpentry is more normal, whereas blacksmithing is more specialised. I imagine the chick game is the same.
Judging by the fact the only girls I've seen around smiths are neeeeeeerds, I imagine they already have a bunch of suitors - what with the male-to-female ratio at, like, LARP events and whathaveyou.

Either way, carpentry is way more practical. Unless you need, like, a sword or fire poker or something. Wood does a lot of stuff.

And yes, I don't know why Birmingham. Presumably the sulfur from the furnace has poisoned his mind.

Ok so that superbowl was one of the first football games i've watched properly. Holy balls it was so GOOD. I was out of my seat in overtime. Amazing comeback.

And in other news Carpentry it is.

Darn tooting. Turned in to one hell of a game. I was worried it was just gonna be a complete blowout, I was almost considering setting my self up for bed after that pick-6. After Gostkowski missed that extra point, I was convinced it just wasn't the patriots night.
But good christ, I'm happy I stayed up. Absolutely mental.

To put a stat to it, prior to Sunday, NFL teams were 0-124 all time when down by 17+ entering the 4th quarter. NFL teams are now 1-124.

To put a stat to Brady's performance: He broke the record for most completions and yards in a super bowl.
He threw the ball a lot. 62 times in total. Generally speaking, throwing the ball a lot correlates with losing - presumably as you usually throw more when behind and you become more predictable the more often you're forced to throw the ball, as well as the increased rates of turnovers from throwing vs. running.
Brady, however, is the exception. To quote:
"He's got a career 0.696 (16-7) win pct (and 0.833 (5-1) in the post-season) when he throws for 50+ attempts in a game.

The 2nd highest QB on the list is Aaron Rodgers with 0.333 (1-2) but the sample size is very small. The 3rd highest QB on the list is Peyton Manning who is 0.235 (4-13). Neither of them has ever attempted 50+ throws in the post-season.

The rest of the league history combined is 0.206 (101-388-6) at this."

    It's insane.

Also, Brady is 39. The patriots plan for him to play for another 3-5 years. He seems to keep getting better with age. Some people predict he'll drop off a cliff like Peyton did - going from one of the all time great seasons to a 9TD-17INT crawl of a year. But I can't see it. When Peyton had that all time great season, he still looked old. It looked like a last hurrah. He was fantastic at making the right plays consistently, but he didn't like spry out there - even by Peyton standards. Arm strength was down, balls looked slower, he had essentially no mobility. He just kept doing the right thing with the ball. Tom on the other hand? He looks like he's still in his prime. Only one major injury in his career - and he recoved from that a decade ago. Still has in pocket movement. Can still bomb the ball. Still has precision. Is still the owner of the best QB sneak in the league, somehow.
I really can see him playing for the 5 years the Patriots are saying. It's mad.

Luckily, I don't hate him like the rest of the league does. I will do if Green Bay meets him in the Super Bowl. But outside of that, I'm happy for Tom to keep on trucking.

Edelmanns catch was a thing of beauty and inches. Really impressed that. Also watched some Marty Bennett interviews. That guy is my new hero.
I originally started supporting the Patriots for the universal hate purposes, I have literally never met an American not from New England who likes the pats. But now I like them for their actual playing. Who would've thought it

I understand everyone's hate for the patriots. They've been way too good for way too long. Considering cap limits, draft orders and all other league parity rules, it's just astonishing they've managed to do it for the last 15+ years. Plus, they're natural heels - Bill Belichick is basically Emperor Palpatine. Tom Brady is a handsome, successful, super-talented kid with a billionaire super model for a wife. They've been caught in some cheating allegations (spygate, deflate gate, etc.) - They're clearly the guys you're meant to root against. WWE wishes they could book a heel as well as the NFL has.

But, I'm fine with them. Packers fans and Patriots fans always seem to get on okay. Both widely successful. Both in separate conferences, so meeting are few and special. Both in the evil league of evil.
Also, importantly, from the Packers perspective - Packers are 1-0 up all time in super bowls vs. the Patriots.

Zeke is a real big boy who wears his shirts like an eejit.
But yeah, he's a really good player. Surprised he lost out on the offensive rookie of the year award to his teammate, Dak Prescott. But QBs win awards and Dak had a better story with stealing the job off of Romo, I guess.

On the note of NFL awards and Honours. It's a damn embarrassment that T.O. missed out on getting into the Hall of Fame for a second year. He's a first ballot hall of famer and is only being left off because the election committee are a bunch of wet farts who didn't appreciate his on the field antics.

    Issues with TO:
He's never seemed like the easiest dude to work with.

    Pros of TO:
    He's 2nd all-time in receiving yards.
    He's 3rd all-time in receiving Touchdowns.
He's a 5 time first team All Pro.
Frequently seen as one of the top 5 WRs of all time.
He famous. It is the hall of fame.

Sure there's guys like Rice and Moss ahead of him. Also probably Don Hutson (depending on how you rank guys from the old, pre-super bowl era). But outside of that? There really is few arguments for anyone better.

(But Don Hutson was definitely better. - Packers Fan)

In other news: Okada is really, really pretty darn good at wrestling.
Meltzer ratings for his 3 title defences in his current reign:
    Vs. Marufiji - 4.75
    Vs. Kenny Omega - 6
    Vs. Suzuki - 4.75

I'd say averaging 5.17 stars (out of 5 stars) means you're probably putting on a pretty good show.
That match vs. Kenny is the first official 6 star match Dave Meltzer has ever given.*

*He did once claim an untelevised Ricky Steamboat vs. Ric Flair match was 6 star worthy, but being untelevised it was never officially reviewed.

Horror movies I can take or leave. I mean, my favourite Horror is Evil Dead 2, which should sum up my feelings on the matter - I'm not really there for the horror. :p

Movies with subs I'm good with. In, say, anime I prefer dubs over subs. But in live action stuff dubs are ridiculous, though, so subs.

    Why'd you ask?
